This policy ("Privacy Policy") explains how Widegarden ("Company", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses and discloses personal information obtained through widegarden.com (the "Website"), Widegarden's simulation software, and any other applications, products, or services that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you're agreeing to how we handle your information as laid out in this Privacy Policy. You can revoke consent by giving us reasonable notice ahead of time, though that might limit what we can do with the Service. If this Privacy Policy doesn't work for you, you should stop using the Service. You have the right to access and update your personal information in certain situations, as covered in section 11 below.

Personal information is basically any data that identifies you as an individual—your name, email, phone number, mailing address, that sort of thing. We only collect what we actually need for specific reasons and try hard to keep it accurate and up to date. Keeping your contact details current is on you though. Information you provide when using the Service Registration and Profile. When you sign up through a third-party platform like Steam or Epic Games, we grab your username, platform ID, and profile details such as your bio, avatar, or profile photo. Communications. We collect information you share when you're designing gardens or using the Service, or whenever you reach out to our support team.

2. What Information Is Collected Automatically

Technical information gets collected automatically when you're using the Service. Device Information. Your IP address, browser type, OS version, unique device identifiers, and browser preferences all get logged. Usage Information. We track what you do with the Service—garden design actions, how long you spend, feedback you leave, all of it. Cookies. Google Analytics and cookies help us collect usage stats. 3. How We Use Your Information

We use what we collect to run the Service, follow the law, and for the purposes listed here. Internal Business Purposes. Analytics, market research, software development, making the Service better—that's how we use your data. Your username and profile might show up on design leaderboards or get used to enhance gameplay. Communications. We use your info to answer your questions and send operational emails like account verification or maintenance alerts. Marketing. Signed up for the newsletter? We'll send you marketing emails. There's an unsubscribe link in every one if you want out. Compliance. Sometimes we process your information to enforce our rights, prevent security issues, follow applicable laws, and respond to lawful requests from authorities. Aggregate Data. We can de-identify and process your information in aggregated, anonymous form for other purposes.

4. How We May Disclose Your Information

We're not going to sell, share, or disclose your personal information to third parties except as described here or when the law requires it. Service Providers. We share data with third-party providers who help us run the Service, including: — Data storage through Amazon Web Services (DynamoDB & S3, based in the United States). — Newsletter delivery via Mailchimp (their privacy policy is at mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/). — Third-party payment processors handle payments, but we don't collect credit card information ourselves. — Applicant tracking systems for anyone applying for jobs with us. Other Users. Some of your profile and gameplay data gets visible to other users—things like your username, bio, avatar, and activity. As Required by Law. If the law, a court order, or protection of our rights or someone else's requires it, we'll disclose information. Business Transactions. If there's a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, we might share information as part of that, subject to applicable laws. Aggregate Data. We can share anonymous, aggregated reports about user demographics and traffic patterns.

5. Information from Children Under 14

We don't knowingly collect information from kids under 14 without parental consent. If you think we've collected data from a child, reach out to info@widegarden.online and we'll remove it right away.

6. How Long Is Your Information Kept?

We hold onto your information for as long as we need it for the original purpose and as long as makes sense for customer service, business, and legal reasons, unless the law says we need to keep it longer.

7. How Do We Protect Your Personal Information?

We use industry-standard practices to protect personal information from loss, unauthorized access, and alteration while it's being sent and stored. That said, nothing is ever 100% secure. If there's a significant data breach, we'll let you know in line with what the law requires.

8. Cross-Border Data Transfers

Your information might get transferred to people and companies in other countries, including Canada and the United States. We protect it the same way described in this Privacy Policy and as the law requires.

9. Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates go up on the Website and we'll notify you about major changes through our Services, email, or whatever seems appropriate.

10. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy follows Canadian law and the laws of the Province of Quebec. Any privacy disputes get resolved in the courts of Montreal.

11. How Can You Access and Rectify Your Personal Information?

You can request access to or corrections of your personal information by writing to us at the address below. We'll get back to you within 30 days and provide access in line with applicable laws. We might ask you to verify your identity, and any information you give for that purpose won't be stored or used for anything else.
